New Zealand or Australian Graduate
Section 12 of the Health Practitioners Competence
Assurance Act 2003 states that the Board must prescribe the
qualification or qualifications for every Scope of Practice that
it has gazetted under Section 11. The Board has prescribed,
to meet this requirement, the following:
If you hold one of the above prescribed qualifications and wish to practise in New Zealand you will need to:
- Bachelor of Chiropractic from the New Zealand College of Chiropractic, Auckland; or
- A pass in an examination set by the Chiropractic Board for chiropractors trained overseas in a chiropractic programme that has accreditation status as recognized by the CCEA (Board Registration Examination); or
- Registration with the Chiropractic Board of Australia.
If you hold one of the above prescribed qualifications and wish to practise in New Zealand you will need to:

Complete the
Application for Registration form
- Provide all of the accompanying documentation required in the Application for Registration form
- Submit the prescribed fee of:
- $153 for registration only (you will not be eligible to practise); or
- $561 if registering for the first time between 1 December and 31 March and you wish to commence practice; or
- $1277 if registering for the first time between 1 April and 30 November and you wish to commence practice.
