Board Committees

The Board has established the following Committees to assist it with its day to day operations:

  • Administration and Board Development Committee;
  • Complaints and Competence Committee;
  • Continuing Professional Development Committee;
  • Policy Committee; and
  • Registration and Examination Committee.

The Board Chairperson and Board Registrar are ex-officio members of all Board Committees.

The Board also has the following two established a Working Parties:

  • the Policy and Guidelines Working Party which is responsible for developing and reviewing the Board's Policies and Guidelines;
  • the Continuing Professional Development Working Party which is responsible for developing a Continuing Professional Development Program for Board consideration.  This Working Party consists of representatives from the Board, the New Zealand Chiropractors Association and the New Zealand College of Chiropractic.

The Administration and Board Development Committee is responsible for overseeing Board administration, developing administrative policy, investigating/implementing Board development programs/initiatives, developing and monitoring the Board's Strategic and Operational Plans and developing and maintaining communication with stakeholders.
 

The Complaints and Competence Committee is responsible for investigating complaints received by the Board.  This also includes overseeing Competence Reviews and Professional Conduct Committee proceedings.

The Continuing Professional Development Committee is responsible for developing, monitoring and reviewing a suitable continuing professional development programme for New Zealand registered chiropractors.

The Policy Committee
is responsible for developing and reviewing all Board related policies, standards and guidelines.

The Registration and Examination Committee is responsible for overseeing all registration related activities and implementing the Board's Registration Examination.
